About Iceberg Quartzite

Iceberg is a surface that holds light the way ice does, from within, with a quality that has nothing to do with reflection and everything to do with depth. Iceberg is a surface that holds light the way ice does, from within, with a quality that has nothing to do with reflection and everything to do with depth. Pale, crystalline, and carrying within it an internal structure that natural process carved over immeasurable time, this quartzite creates rooms of extraordinary brightness and clarity. It is the stone for interiors that aspire to a quality of light that architecture alone cannot produce.

Iceberg presents an exceptional pale ground, a white of near-crystalline purity that carries subtle undertones of blue-grey and cool silver, giving the surface a depth that prevents it from reading as simply white. In certain light conditions, the ground appears to glow from within, the crystalline structure of the quartzite catching and diffusing light in a way that produces a quality close to luminescence. Through this brilliant pale ground, veining of soft grey and cool blue-grey traces with varying density, in some passages light and occasional, in others building to more substantial formations that introduce structure and visual rhythm. The absence of warm tones is total and deliberate. Iceberg is a genuinely cool stone, it never drifts toward cream or ivory. In direct natural light, the effect is extraordinary brightness. In filtered light, the crystalline ground takes on a softer, more complex quality where the cool undertones become more visible.

HOW IT TRANSFORMS A SPACE

Iceberg creates the quality of light in a room that is otherwise achievable only through architecture. On a feature wall, it functions as a light source in the perceptual sense, the room appears brighter for its presence, the eye drawn repeatedly to the cool luminosity of the surface. In open-plan spaces, the pale ground expands perceived volume and creates a sense of vast, uninterrupted space. In bathrooms, the crystalline brightness creates an environment of clinical luxury, sharp and immaculate. Under natural light, Iceberg is at its most extraordinary, the surface changes throughout the day as the angle and intensity of light shifts.

DESIGN APPLICATIONS

Iceberg is the stone for interiors built on light. Contemporary residential spaces with expansive glazing where the stone can be read against natural sky and landscape. Luxury hotel bathrooms and spa facilities where clinical brightness and crystalline quality are design objectives. Feature walls in galleries and cultural institutions where the surface provides a pristine, non-competitive backdrop for displayed works. Reception and public areas in premium commercial environments where the first impression must be one of absolute quality and precision.

INTERIOR COMPATIBILITY

Iceberg belongs in cool, minimal interiors built on pale, restrained palettes. With white oak, pale concrete, and brushed stainless or nickel, it creates a composition of maximum refinement. Against dark materials, charcoal stone, blackened steel, ebonised timber, the pale ground becomes luminous by contrast and the compositional tension is entirely compelling. In warmer palettes, Iceberg functions as a cooling element, a surface that creates contrast and prevents the space from becoming heavy.

FINISH & SURFACE CHARACTER

Polished Iceberg is the definitive expression of this stone, the crystalline ground achieves its full luminosity and the cool grey veining reads with precision, the surface reflecting and distributing light with remarkable quality. A honed finish creates a more architectural, matte quality that suits spaces where glare control is a consideration. Both finishes are exceptional; the choice depends on the quality of light in the specific space.

COLLECTION POSITIONING

Iceberg represents the apex of pale quartzite in the Foremost collection, a stone chosen by architects and designers for projects where the quality of light is a primary design consideration. Its crystalline luminosity and cool tonal purity place it among the most architecturally specific and exceptional stones we offer.
